Comedy, rom-coms and thrillers are my thing. Making the audience laugh and cry within the same film/episode is screenwriting genius as far as I’m concerned, and I always aim to do just that. (Yes, even in my thrillers – when the world is turning to sh*t a little light relief always hits the mark!)
My optioned rom-com, SNAP HAPPY, about a privacy lawyer falling for a paparazzo, has interest from a well-known streamer and is currently being read by a certain A-lister for the leading role. Of course, they might say no, but it’s still so exciting that they are even in the running for it.
My half-hour comedy, DISGRACEFULLY, about two women in their 60s who gatecrash weddings to pick up lonely widowers, is currently being pitched by the production company that optioned it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it finds a home because I love these two characters! The script was a Finalist in the Female Pilot Club/UKTV Comedy Pilots for Women by Women.
I’m also up for a potential writers’ room for a comedy-drama TV series. It’s a dream project that I would love to be part of, and I’m crossing everything I possibly can for that one, too.
In addition, a romantic comedy feature I wrote for a well-known Canadian company was green-lit last year, and I’m hopeful it will be filmed sometime this year.
Moving onto my thriller writing, my optioned action-thriller feature SAFEGUARD is in development with a British Producer. I’m also developing another action-thriller feature with an American Producer and collaborating with Director Jo Southwell on a gritty UK thriller.
Finally, my award-winning, record-breaking short film RING O’ROSES had its world premiere in 2022 as part of THE IMPACT feature film. I’ve also had a couple of short stories published—a horror story, SAIGNANT (Winner of TWISTED 50 Vol. 2 ), and a children’s story, GRACE’S DAD.
