When I said back in April last year that 2024 was going well, I spoke way too soon. Little did I know that four weeks later my husband would be in Intensive Care on life support having caught a Coronavirus. The doctors didn’t think he was going to make it but miraculously he pulled through. It took another 3 months before he was able to come home again.
At the tail end of all this trauma, I had to come up with more jokes for a comedy pilot. Given that the last thing I felt like doing was laughing, I honestly didn’t know if I’d be able to do it but I said to myself ‘If I can pull this off I can do anything’. Anyway, one of the development execs who read the script said it was the strongest comedy pilot they had read in a very long time. So whatever happens to the script this will remain my proudest writing achievement ever.
